Madonna
Pop superstar Madonna is to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.
The "Like a Virgin" hitmaker will be honored in a ceremony in New York in January along with John Mellencamp, the Ventures, Leonard Cohen, and the Dave Clark Five.
Nominees are chosen by a committee and whittled down to a final list of five by a panel of music industry experts.
Acts only become eligible to join the iconic list 25 years after their first recording.
Madonna, 49, found fame with her first single "Holiday," which entered the charts in 1984.
