LOS ANGELES - "Transformers" hottie Megan Fox is in negotiations to star in a comedic supernatural thriller from the writer of the upcoming buzz picture "Juno."
"Jennifer's Body," described as similar in tone to "Heathers" and "Beetlejuice," follows a cheerleader with a perfect life who becomes the girl from hell when she gets possessed and begins killing boys in a small town. Her best friend must then find a way to stop her.
Fox Atomic, the genre arm of Fox Searchlight, pre-emptively picked up screenwriter Diablo Cody's spec last week.
Fox Searchlight will release "Juno" on December 14, and the art-house studio has high hopes for director Jason Reitman's quirky teen comedy, which stars Ellen Page as a pregnant girl with attitude. It was the runner-up for the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Fox, meanwhile will get to showcase her comedic chops in "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People," the adaptation of the Toby Young memoir starring Simon Pegg and Jeff Bridges.
