Chinese choreography master Yuen Wo-Ping will return to the director's chair for "The Great Wall," according to the Beijing-based Star Daily.
Yuen arrived in Beijing Tuesday to discuss his idea of the project with PKU Starlight Group.
He said he has asked Jet Li to be his leading man, according to an interview by the newspaper. Yuen will also choreograph the fights scenes, which would occupy about two-thirds of the movie.
The story is set between the Qin and Han Dynasties and is about fighting the nomadic invaders from the north, the Xiongnu, known as the Huns in the West.
Jet Li has announced previously that he would not do any more martial arts film after his last production, "Fearless," but Yuen said it does not matter and he is pretty confident that Li will say yes.
