Kohler in China 2006-03-13 07:43 Kohler formally entered the Chinese market by establishing a representative office in Hong Kong in 1995. The company later set up offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Wuhan, and opened show rooms in a number of provincial capital. The company then established two wholly owned factories in Foshan, Guangdong Province and in Beijing. These facilities produce pottery products and taps. In 1998, the firm built another wholly owned production facility in Shanghai for the production of bathtubs. Kohler had a full production line of bath appliances in China by 1999. It now has six factories, 400 outlets and seven flagship stores throughout the country. (China Daily 03/13/2006 page3) |
