Our guests mentioned several issues Chinese lawmakers and citizens have to think about when drafting a specialized law – for example, the concept of domestic violence and the difficulty in finding evidence to prove it. They also mentioned, if China were to pass such legislation, the function of the law shouldn’t be limited to punishment after violence but also involve prevention of violence, protection of the vulnerable and education of the public. How will or should China address these questions? Can a law achieve these goals? We will look into them in our next episode.
