A TV series adaption of Red Star Over China written by American journalist Edgar Snow, will be screened in China on Saturday.
Red Star Over China, written in 1937, was one of the most influential books with a western understanding and sympathy for the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the 1930s.
The 30-episode TV series will be faithful to the original book, extensively depicting military and political developments in China, especially Chinese bravery in fighting against Japanese invaders.
The first western journalist to meet Chairman Mao and other CPC leaders, Edgar Snow recorded the first authorized account of Mao's life, as well as the history of the Long March and the people responsible for the Chinese revolution that made China what it is today.
