Hundreds of old TV sets displayed to call for environmental protection

Nearly 200 old television sets, produced between the 1960s and now, were displayed in Kaifeng, capital city of Henan province, taking visitors on a trip down memory lane and to raise awareness about electronic waste.

Exhibited in Gelinmei Circular Economy Industry Park of Lankao county, these "antiques" are arranged in chronological order and displayed under a big banner saying "this electronic waste is enough to build another Himalayas".

The staff say that they hope to raise public awareness about environmental protection and to promote the idea of a recycling economy, reducing the pollution of electronic waste.
