Smart connected devices are one of the highlights at the 2016 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) which opened earlier this week in Las Vegas.
This year's show features innovations by more than 3,600 exhibitors, including a record 500 startups, according to the organizer Consumer Technology Association.
Research firm Gartner earlier projected that there will be 6.4 billion connected things in use worldwide in 2016, up 30 percent from 2015, and that the market will grow to 20.8 billion by 2020.
This year's CES, attracting more than 150,000 visitors worldwide, ends on Saturday. The annual event is the world's largest consumer electronics expo.
