2014 African Cultural Focus
2014 African Cultural Focus, covering over 10 provinces in China and more than 20 African countries, has continued throughout 2014. China, a country with one of the longest histories in the world, and Africa, a continent with the most developing countries and splendid cultures, are natural partners in cultural exchanges. 2014 African Cultural Focus began in 2008 and has developed into an event with large-scale activities, more high-level visits and far-reaching effects.
A number of cultural activities, including exhibitions, forums, concerts, artistic performances and photography shows were held to consolidate the strategic trust between China and Africa, deepen cultural exchanges, and raise China-Africa relations to a new high. Song Yangqun, director of African Affairs at the Bureau for External Cultural Relations of the Chinese Ministry of Culture, said in the African Culture Focus seminar that China’s Ministry of Culture values the cultural exchanges between China and Africa. The series of activities has received recognition by the two peoples.
