"Factory Boss" tells the story of a manufacturing business based in Shenzhen.
As rising labor costs lead China to lose its manufacturing industry to Southeast Asian countries, the "world's factory" Shenzhen begins to enter a crisis.
The topic has caused much debate among world media considering China's influence in the international manufacturing industry.
A decade ago, Chinese actor Fan Wei took home the same prize for his role in "The Parking Attendant in July."
The film is the only Chinese movie to compete among the 19 on the competition list.
"Factory Boss" will open in Chinese theatres on October 21.
