Beijing Playhouse Drama Club Workshop: How to Audition for Theater for Beginners

Date: Aug 5 — 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Venue: China Cultural Center in the Beijing Maple Drive (cinema complex at 21 Liangmaqiao)

Workshop Leaders: Chris Verrill, Director of Robin Hood. Verrill has done more than 60 shows, totaling more than 2,000 performances. He also directed Beijing Playhouse productions of Guys and Dolls, A Christmas Carol, Love Sex and the IRS, and Romeo and Juliet.

Workshop Focus: If you've never done theatre before, this workshop will teach you some of the fundamentals of auditioning for a stage play.

Language and Age: All levels of skill and proficiency are welcome

Kids summer theater camp

Date: July 28 to Aug 9

Venue: Beijing Playhouse

Price: RMB 8,000 tuition fee for a two-week theater camp.

Beijing Playhouse Academy of Performing Arts announces open enrolment for the following kid's theatre camp. Participants, aged 6-14, will perform Around the World in 80 Days with acting, songs, and dance. Aspiring actors, singers, dancers, and musicians are welcome. Some English proficiency is required.

The Sanctuary Summer Courtyard Party & BBQ + THRIFT Pop Up Shop

Date: Aug 16 — 15:00 pm - Midnight

Venue: The Other Place

The Sanctuary will be hosting three hutong courtyard parties over the summer at the super chilled Gulou hangout, The Other Place. Join the final party on Saturday Aug 16 and enjoy some of the best Beijing-based DJs spinning outdoors in intimate and cosy surroundings with plenty of good people, food and drink. Music by BB Deng (Disobedience Movement), Charm (Sinotronics), Juhstynn (Factory), Ralph Zuckermann (Lebensfreude Records, Berlin) & ZhiQi (ShadowPlay).

THRIFT, organized by Jessica Rapp, will also be joining in the fun and will set up shop inside whilst we party outside. Jessica will be bringing a handpicked selection of unique, stylish and low-priced secondhand clothing, jewelry and accessories from around the world.
