Math competitions like competing in kung fu

"Taking part in math competitions is like competing with other martial arts masters - a common scene described in Kung fu novels," said Hu Mingyuan, the top scorer in science in the national college entrance examination in Northwest China's Gansu province.

"Since both competitions broaden one's mind and strengthen one's will," said Hu, who likes reading kung fu novels after class.
