Smart home technology will soon be a reality at affordable prices, smart home device developer Smart City Info Tech said on Wednesday.
The company introduced Yunho, a new series of eight smart home devices that will allow people to connect to their home at any given time without being in the house.
These devices will be available in about two weeks through online retailers at unprecedented prices, said Chen Yuanfei, founder and CEO of the company.
The devices include a bulb that can change into 1,600 color variations via smart phone control, and a wireless camera that enables people to keep track of their house as well as children and the elderly who stay at home. Plugs, curtains and windows also can be controlled remotely.
"As with how the mobiles took place of the telephone, once the smart home devices get more affordable, they will soon take over our homes," said Zhao Shanwen, chairman of Chengdu Huijia Internet of Things Technology.
