Xinjiang concentrates on new industrial base development

The Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region plans to focus on new industrial bases for the cities of Urumqi, Alaer, Shihezi, and the Kuytun-Dushanzi district this year, to increase revenues from the electronic information industry’s main business by 20 percent, and to make some breakthroughs in the photovoltaic industry, Xinjiang Daily reported on Jan 6.

According to reports from a regional economy and information conference, Xinjiang will support development projects of the Daqo Group, Tianke Heda Corp, and Garson Corp to increase economic growth. In addition, Xinjiang will promote 18 local key projects that are parts of a “National electronic information industry revitalization planning and technical renovation” program.

The region’s economic and information commission and policy development office will formulate a development guide for the Xinjiang photovoltaic, new-energy industry. At the same time, they will make an effort to guide investment and support for key electronic information projects.
