Founded in 2005 as a coalition of NGOs, China NGO Network for International Exchange (CNIE) endeavors to facilitate NGOs in China to participate in relevant activities of international NGOs as well as the UN system, carry forward the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, promote the attainment of the MDGs, enhance cooperation of Chinese NGOs or even NGOs of the Asia-Pacific region with the UN, and deepen friendship between peoples of all countries in the world.

At present, CNIE has 31 member organizations, which are all national social organizations with extensive domestic and international influence, active in conducting international exchanges and participating in events organized by international NGOs.
