SHENYANG - A new round of blizzards on Thursday hit Northeast China's Liaoning province, forcing 10 expressways to close completely or partially.
Shipping services in the port city of Dalian were also suspended on Thursday because of the blizzard, which packed strong winds, said a statement issued by the provincial traffic department.
The provincial weather disaster warning center has issued six yellow alerts for icy roads, warning drivers of slippery roads.
As of 9 am Thursday, snow continued to fall.
Heavy snowstorms battered the provinces of Liaoning, Heilongjiang and Jilin in northeast China last month, closing kindergartens and schools in the cities of Harbin, Changchun, Jilin and Baishan for one to two days.
