The family of a comatose migrant worker in Beijing agreed to remove him from life-support equipment so that his liver and kidneys could be donated to others, Beijing Daily reported on Wednesday.
The 47-year-old man suffered a major cerebral hemorrhage on Nov 18 while at work. After emergency treatment at a hospital, he went into a coma. A ventilator was required to sustain his life.
On Dec 6, doctors informed members of the man's family that he was dying, and they decided to remove the life-support system and donate his organs. He died on Dec 7, and his liver and two kidneys were sent to save three other patients.
The man had never married and had no children.
