A portal on public information for the logistics industry was launched in Guangdong province on Tuesday and is expected to raise the efficiency of logistics operations by 20 percent.
It was built by government agencies and public institutions, led by the province's Economic and Information Commission.
Its databases include nearly 45 million pieces of e-government data from Guangdong, 3 million pieces of product data from more than 40,000 manufacturers in the province and data of 2 million organizations there, said Qi Zhenli, an official with the commission.
Services offered on the portal include analysis of goods and organizations, supply chain control, e-government, release of indices on the logistics and information industries, and international sharing of logistics information.
Value-added services are also available, including those on food tracing, customs clearance, place of origin certification, corporate credibility and international e-trading.
The Southern Modern Logistics Public Information Platform portal is accessible at www.nf56.org.
