Visitors at Jilin University's archaeological and art museum in Jilin province may expect to see a bronze wine vessel worth tens of millions of yuan, along with stone implements that are at least 10,000 years old.

The wine vessel, in the shape of a vase, was used during the Shang Dynasty (16th century to 11th century BC). It is about 50 centimeters tall and is the most valuable antique in the museum.

The newly opened museum, which covers 2,500 square meters, has in its collection about 8,000 antiques, including ancient coins, porcelains and paintings. It is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, and will be closed during the winter vacation.
