Top court opens micro blog

The Supreme People’s Court has launched its official micro blog at Sina Weibo, the first State-level organ to open a micro blog account.

The top court’s move was to enhance and push forward channels for the public to know about the judicial process and supervise judicial procedures, it said in a blog posting.

Meanwhile, 31 provincial high people’s courts have also opened micro blog accounts, along with more than 150 intermediate people’s courts.

Using the micro blog to publish court proceedings has become common practice among courts after the Jinan Intermediate People’s Court published the proceedings of the trial of Bo Xilai, the former Chongqing Party chief, in August.
