The New South Beijing Three-Year Plan (2013-2015) has been approved by the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and will soon be released, according to a statement from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform on February 26.
The new plan is an extension of the South Beijing Three-Year Plan (2010-2012), which has greatly promoted growth in South Beijing in the past three years.
South Beijing covers five districts in the southern region of the capital, namely Dongcheng, Xicheng, Fengtai, Fangshan and Daxing.
According to the new plan, Beijing's southern regions will focus on a number of strategic projects that will contribute to long-term development. An investment of 396 billion yuan ($63.63 billion) will support 232 major projects in the fields of public services, infrastructure, ecology and industrial growth in the next three years.
