Telecom companies to expand operations in Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO - Two Chinese telecommunications companies said on Monday that they have joined hands to expand operations in Brazil and Latin America.

China Telecom in Brazil and China Communications Services in Brazil, the newly established subsidiaries of China Telecom Corporation Limited (China Telecom) and China Communications Services Corporation Limited (China ComService), will be headquartered in Sao Paulo.

China Telecom in Brazil introduced its data services product portfolio, which includes International Private Leased Circuit (IPLC), IP Access, IP VPN, as well as fully managed data services.

The company also will provide voice wholesale services for communications between Brazil and Asia Pacific regions, including China.

China Telecom in Brazil plans to build a second PoP network in Brazil later this year to increase network capacity and reliability.

China Communications Services in Brazil will provide one-stop integrated solutions, including telecommunications infrastructure services and business process outsourcing services.
