A legal expert has proposed that the "Law Promotion Day" on December 4 should be renamed "Constitution Day", Legal Daily reported on Wednesday.
Han Dayuan, law school dean of Renmin University of China and director of the Chinese Constitution Research Association, said that the name change would raise awareness of China's Constitution.
On April 26, 2001, the central government proclaimed Dec 4, the day China's current Constitution was implemented in 1982, Law Promotion Day to raise public awareness of China's legal system and laws.
