Volunteer fire fighters in Fengdu County, Chongqing set off on a drill on Nov 8.[Photo/Xinhua] The volunteer fire brigade is led by Wang Bokang, a retired fire fighter and long-time Party member. In 2008, Wang and 15 other veterans and Party members started a local team of volunteer fire fighters. Since then, the team has worked with the county fire department on more than 50 rescue missions, numerous inspections and educational sessions. “Fighting against fire is my career. It doesn’t matter if I'm retired,” Wang told Xinhua News Agency. |
