Ngarambe F. Xavier, ambassador of Rwanda to China talks to chinadaily.com.cn, giving his comment of China's great achievements during the past decades and expectation of the country's new leadership and future after the 18th CPC National Congress.
Transcript
My first comment is to say, "Congratulations!" to the leadership and the people of China for this tremendous achievement.
And the lesson that we can learn here is that social-economic development is possible and it is possible if people are really hardworking, if people are disciplined, if people can be ready to put national interest above their selfish, individual interest. It is possible in an environment that preserves national integrity, in an environment which is safe and stable. And we can learn very good lessons from China, especially the most important one that it is possible and we should make it.
We are already fully satisfied with the status and the orientation with the relationship between China and Rwanda. The FOCAC (Forum on China-Africa Cooperation) mechanism, which is there to develop relations between China and Africa, really encompasses all the sectors, all the strategies for further, for enhanced cooperation, for win-win deals between China and Africa. We hope that new leadership will strengthen their existing frameworks so that we exploit, at the maximum, the excellent conditions which are already in place that as Africans, as Rwandans, we are not taking advantage of.
