NEW DELHI -- Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived at the Indian capital New Delhi Wednesday afternoon to attend the 4th summit of BRICS countries on March 28-29.
During the summit, the leaders of China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa will have in-depth discussions on global economic management, sustainable development and cooperation among the five BRICS countries on the theme "Partnership for Stability, Security and Prosperity".
A joint communiqué and joint press conference by the BRICS leaders are expected after the summit on Thursday, said diplomats.
According to latest news, Hu is expected to meet Russian President Dmitry Medvedev soon after his arrival. It will be the first time that the two heads of states meet after Russia held its presidential election early this month.
World hotpot issues including Syria crisis, and bilateral issues are high on the agenda of their meeting.
Hu is also expected to meet other leaders of BRICS countries on the sidelines of the summit.
