Police in Central China's Henan province have arrested nine suspects in a traffic accident that killed seven people last week.
A bulk cement truck collided with a tricycle at a crossing in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province, on the morning of July 27, killing seven people and injuring 13 others.
The truck driver and its owner were among those held by traffic police Monday afternoon, charged with causing traffic deaths, according to a report in the Dahe Daily.
Wang Yongduo, the tricycle driver who police said did not have a driving license, was also detained on charges of illegally driving, overloading and running a red light, the report said.
The police also publicized the names of the victims on Monday, and the victims' family members and the truck driver are discussing compensation.
Bulk cement trucks have been in many traffic accidents in recent years. As many as three accidents were caused by the trucks within 10 days in May 2011, the Henan Business Daily reported.
