Police have arrested an armed robbery suspect nine years after the crime, the Shenyang Daily reported.
The man, Zhu Dawei, was working as the deputy general manager of the Golmud branch of China Unicom in Qinghai province, the report said. He is married and has a son.
According to the Tiexi branch of the Shenyang public security bureau, the case is being investigated.
Zhu, a native of Shandong province, went to Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province, to work for a telecom company in 2003. There he met Xu Hui and married her, even though he was already married.
One of Zhu's colleagues at the time, Wang Ming, asked the couple to participate in a botched robbery.
The three bought a homemade handgun on June 4, 2003. Zhu kept watch outside while the other two broke into a residence. Xu was arrested, while Zhu and Wang managed to escape.
Zhu was arrested in 2004. He was released soon after due to lack of evidence because Xu refused to testify.
After that, he changed his name to Zhu Xingfeng and moved to Golmud to work as a salesman at the China Unicom branch. He was promoted to deputy general manager in 2011.
However, in 2011, Wang testified against Zhu after he was arrested during a national crackdown targeting fugitives.
