There is no question drugs are the scourge of society: wrecking homes, destroying families and people's lives. In 1987, the United Nations General Assembly established June 26 as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to serve as a reminder of the need to create an international society free of drug abuse. Some 25 years later, the struggle continues and this year's message is themed on creating a "global action for healthy communities without drugs". China Daily website brings you our special coverage on the fight against society's biggest menace and hopes to raise the public's awareness of the issues surrounding the problem. |
