HEFEI - Eleven people were killed and another 59 injured in several rear-end collisions on a section of expressway in East China's Anhui province on Saturday night, rescuers said Sunday.
Around 9:12 pm Saturday, traffic police found that several accidents had occurred on a section of the Nanjing-Luoyang Expressway near Bozhou, rescuers said.
As of 5:00 pm Sunday, these accidents had left 11 people dead, including four people who died in one collision.
All 59 injured have been rushed to hospital, and five of them were in serious condition.
Investigations into the accidents are underway.
