HUINING, Gansu - Three people have been killed and eight others injured in shootings in a village in Northwest China's Gansu province on Sunday, according to police.

The gunman, using an emulational handgun, is suspected to be a man in his thirties and the shots were fired at around 10 am Sunday in Dangxian village, Huining county, sources with the provincial police department and the government of Huining told Xinhua.

The injured people have been hospitalized, police said, revealing no more details about the victims.

The police have launched a manhunt while investigating the case.
