Lanzhou - Two people were killed and four saved from a coal mine roof fall in Northwest China's Gansu province at midnight Saturday, said the local security monitoring department.
The accident happened at 11: 56 pm when a team of 11 workers with the Jinhe coal mine of Lanzhou Yaojie Coal and Electricity Group were doing some digging work. Six workers were buried on the spot. The company started the rescue immediately and three workers were pulled out by 2:00 am Sunday, but two of them were found dead.
Three more workers were rescued shortly afterwards and were hospitalized.
