Lv Zhengyu, former senior manager at carmaker Infiniti, has joined China's Internet company Leshi as the China leader of the recently announced supercar project, and will report directly to Jia Yueting, the chairman of the board of Leshi Holding.
Before joining Leshi Holding (Beijing) Co, Lv formerly served Infiniti China as general manager from 2010 to 2013, and he was appointed as Infiniti Asia and Oceania General Manager in May 2013.
Lv confirmed the move on Monday in an interview with China Business News, though Leshi marketing department told the reporter it possessed no knowledge about the personnel change.
Leshi Holding's Internet of vehicles CEO He Yi said in December last year the coming supercar will be a smart super electric vehicle, and it will be offered around the world as a global product.
The Internet company is working with domestic carmaker Beijing Automotive Group Co and US electric vehicle technology and engineering company Atieva Inc in the US, and the US-based automotive research and development team has been preparing for production for nearly one year.
Leshi Holding's listed arm Leshi Internet Information and Technology Corp is known for its stream contents website letv.com and the smart TV sets.
The listed company's Shenzhen ChiNext bourse share closed 9.12 percent higher on Monday.
