CowParade is an international public art exhibit that has been featured in major world cities.
Fiberglass sculptures of cows are decorated by local artists, and distributed over the city center, in public places such as train stations, important avenues, and parks.
After visiting 79 cities around the world over the past 15 years, the CowParade event is taking place in Shanghai, with the city hosting the show for around a year from Sept 25 2014, during which time more than 500 cow artworks are expected to be created and displayed in public spaces such as the Bund, Lujiazui and People's Square.
Celebrities, artists and members of the public will have the chance to submit their designs and paint on the bodies of the cows.
