Officials with provincial government departments in Hunan province will be banned from using public vehicles during national holidays, the provincial disciplinary watchdog said.
The move is part of the Hunan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection's campaign to further supervise the use of public vehicles among officials, the disciplinary watchdog said on Monday.
Officials using public vehicles for private matters, lavishly decorating them, illegally switching or borrowing public vehicles and using license plates belonging to the police or military will also be targeted by the campaign.
The disciplinary watchdog said it will welcome reports of violations and open both public and secret investigations.
The province will also push forward the development of an online platform for approving the use of public vehicles to prevent excessive use.
