China has lifted restrictions on how low airline tickets can go.
Airlines can determine the maximum ticket price based on a benchmark, with the maximum fare no higher than 25 percent above the benchmark.
But there are no limitations on how low it can go, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the National Development and Reform Commission.
China is also committed to developing low-cost airlines, said Xia Xinghua, deputy head of Civil Aviation Administration, on Tuesday.
According to the South Metropolis Daily, 13 low-cost airlines are in operation in China.
However, only one low-cost airline company, Spring Airlines, was from Chinese mainland.
