The rich list of Chinese families 2013 was published by Chinese wealth management journal "Money Week" on Monday. Tencent boss Ma Huateng unseated Sany's Liang Wengen as China wealthiest on the list, followed by Li Yanhong family from Baidu and Yang Huiyan from Country Garden.
Ma Huateng, Chairman of Tencent Holding, tops the list with a wealth of 46.7 billion yuan ($7.61 billion). Born in 1971, he is much younger than most others on the list. He founded Tencent in 1998, which is now China's largest Internet company well-known for its instant messenger QQ.
Li Yanhong (Robin Li) is CEO and chairman of Baidu, China's main Internet search engine. He ranked the second with a wealth of 41.1 billion yuan ($6.69 billion). Some research institution state that Tencent, Baidu and Alibaba dominate China's Internet market.
Yang Huiyan is executive director of the property developer Country Garden Holding founded by her father Li Guoqiang in 1997. And she was named the richest woman in Asia by Forbes in 2007. With a net worth of 33.8 billion yuan ($5.06 billion), Yang's family headed the real-estate industry on the list.
Liang Wengen, CEO of Sany heavy industry, was the No.1 on the 2012 list. He lost 19 billion yuan, almost half his family's fortune in last year.
