The Italian Gala Dinner 2012, organized by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce was held at The Peninsula Beijing on Saturday, December 1st. As established CICC tradition, the Italian Gala Dinner 2012 has been a unique occasion for the Italian and Chinese business community to enjoy delicious Italian cuisine, live music and entertainment. Additionally, this year the Gala has provided the opportunity to bid H.E. the Ambassador of Italy and Mrs. Iannucci farewell since they will leave China soon.
Welcomed on the stage by the Chairman of CICC, Mr. Franco Cutrupia, H.E. Attilio Massimo Iannucci has stressed the importance of the relationship between China and Italy, referring to “the almost 2000 Italian companies settled in the P.R.C as well as to the recent official visit of the Italian Minister for Economic Development, Mr. Corrado Passera”.
Moreover, in his speech, the Ambassador has called for “a clear and determined action from the Italian institutions” in order to support and consolidate the presence of the Italian companies within the Chinese market, especially in the second-tier cities.
Various Italian companies active in different sectors (ranging from textile machineries to metallurgy, from insurance company to fashion brand) have supported the event, testifying the plurality of the Italian settlement in China and the close relationship with the Italian institutions to the Chinese Guests.
Among these, CNT SAVIO Sales & Service (Beijing) Co., Ltd., SAVIO (SHANDONG) TEXTILE MACHINERY CO., Ltd., Generali China Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Marina Rinaldi, Tenova Industrial Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd, Alitalia – Compagnia Aerea Italiana S.p.A, Shanghai SinoDrink Trading Co., Ltd and Tecnomovie s.r.l.
Main entertainments of the evening have been the Lion Dance, homage to the Chinese artistic tradition, and the music of The Taste of Soul Band, an amateur Blues Band very popular among Beijingers.
Another highlight of the evening has been the introduction by Angelo Morano (CICC Board Member) about the “Traceability & Fashion”, a project aimed at certificating the origin of manufacturing goods.
Last but not least, thanks to Alitalia and Voglia d’Italia Tour S.r.l, the Gala has also been the occasion to promote Italy as a touristic destination.
Many other Italian brands have supported the lucky draw and fill the goody bags with rich prizes. Thanks to Italian artistic ceramic manufacturer Tagina, the almost 300 guests were offered the Cruciani macramé bracelet with the colors of the Italian flag.
