The severe drought in Southwest China has seriously affected Yunnan's flower industry - one of the chief industries in the province.
The worst drought in 60 years has inflicted a direct agricultural economic loss of 6.5 billion yuan (US$952 million) in southwest China's Yunnan Province, a local official said Sunday.
China Eastern Airlines will launch new air service from the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, to Dubai on Feb 22, the company said Jan 30.
Shares of Yunnan Copper Co, Ltd, a copper company restructured from one of China's state-owned metal refineries, opened 2.31 percent lower at 24.58 yuan ($3.6) Friday after the company forecast a turnaround in annual net profit last year.
