Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has always been a gem among the nation's diverse tourism resources. In this first group of photos filed by local photographers to CRI, Xinjiang's Kanas Lake is captured during varying climates and from a number of different angles. "Kanas" is a word from the Mongolian language, meaning "lake in the canyon". The lake, which at its deepest point measures 196 meters below the surface, is surrounded by thick layers of forest, the color of which swiftly changes according to the season.
