The first product from BAIC Motor's off-road vehicle platform, the BJ40 went on sale on Dec 28 in Beijing. It is equipped with a 2.4 L straight four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and five-speed manual transmission as well as a four-wheel-drive system.
Since BJ40's concept model made its world premiere in 2008, the vehicle had gone through 10 rounds of quality improvements before its volume production.
The model provides three variants, priced between 146,800 yuan and 186,800 yuan.
