BEIJING - Chrysler China has started recall of defective 2014 Grand Cherokee over software problems, China's quality watchdog announced on Friday.
The recall will involve 4,156 vehicles produced between May 10, 2013 and August 20, 2013 and sold on the Chinese mainland, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.
The software in the defective vehicles has affected the proper working of lighting on the dashboard, which may cause safety problems, the statement said.
The manufacturer will offer free checks and update the software in the recalled cars starting from Friday.
