Zou Qinyi, 11, is a fifth grade student in Shucheng county, Anhui province. A trip to a farm inspired her to be a "street vendor".
She borrowed 20 yuan ($3.14) from her uncle and bought 30 lotus seedpods. She woke up early the next day, put the lotus seedpods in a bag and went to sell them by the street. It took her an hour and half to sell everything, and she made 17 yuan back.
"I made more than 40 yuan two days in a row, and it's the first pot of gold in my life," she said. "It only took me a couple of hours, but it made me realize that it's not easy to earn money on one's own."
