Spring Festival couplets mark Chinese New Year

A calligrapher writes Spring Festival couplets in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Jan 2. The activity, launched by CCTV (China Central Television), is currently in its fourth session and has invited more than 10 famous calligraphers from the China Calligraphers Association, Inner Mongolia Calligraphers Association and Baotou Calligraphers Association. Spring Festival couplets, or chunlian, are one of the most important customs when celebrating Spring Festival.
