Shunyi county, a neighbor of Tongzhou county, a sub-center of Beijing, aims to upgrade its traffic routes by constructing seven urban rail lines and 11 roads, enabling Shunyi residents to drive to downtown or the neighboring county within 30 minutes.
The 11 roads include Tonghuai road connecting Tongzhou, Shunyi and Huairou; a north extension of Tianbei road connecting Capital Airport, Shunyi and Huairou; and an east extension of Siwei road connecting Tongzhou, Capital Airport and Yanjiao of Hebei province.
Shunyi will build new 146-kilometer-long railways and reconstruct existing 60-kilometer-long railways to connect Shunyi with downtown as well as Capital Airport, Beijing-Daxing International Airport, Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Beijing railway station and Beijing south railway station.
According to a Shunyi official, most of these projects are expected to be carried out in 2017.
