The Zhongguancun Big Data Day, which is also the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Big Data collaborative development Summit, was held on Dec 12 at the demonstration center in the Zhongguancun Science Park.
The summit focused on big data-driven innovation and the collaborative development of big data industries in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.
Nearly a thousand entrepreneurs, experts and scholars were invited to the conference to discuss future big data development and share their views on building platforms in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.

Establishing Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei big data industry collaborative and innovative platform
The platform is intended to cultivate innovative talents, introduce big data entrepreneurs and share innovation and entrepreneurship information in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province to promote within them resource sharing and demonstrations of cooperative industry-university research innovation .
The platform is sponsored by the Beijing Institute of Big Data Research, the Innovation Center for Industrial Big Data, the Tianjin Software Industry Association, the Hebei Software Information Service Industry Association, the Zhongguancun Big Data Industry Alliance, several research institutes and colleges including Peking University, Tianjin University, Tsinghua University and Hebei University, and enterprises such as DiDi, AsiaInfo and 360.com.
Industry-university-research cooperative programs reinforce big data collaborative platform
During the summit, several big data service platforms have signed agreements with the newly established Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei collaborative and innovative platform.
WaterTek, a company focusing on solving smog problems, invested 100 million yuan ($14.5 million) to construct a big data collaborative platform with Peking University, which will be able to train talents and at the same time serve the collaborative development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.

The map was jointly researched and made by the Beijing Institute of Big Data Research, the Zhongguancun Big Data Industry Alliance, Mininglamp -- a company offering solution to big data industrial applications -- WiseWeb, which focuses on big data research, management and analysis, and Shujutang, an internet company devoted to integrating big data information.
There are 866 big data enterprises in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province included in the map. The map indicates the distribution of basic structure, data resources, application services and supporting services of the four industrial chains in the three regions.
The application service accounts for about 72 percent and basic structure about 20 percent. The data on resource and supportive service are still under development.
Zhongguancun to constantly lead innovative development of big data industry
Zhongguancun, which regards the innovation and industrialization of big data as one of its top missions, initiated the first big data day in 2012. In 2013, it put forward the idea of industrial and innovative clusters to lead big data application demonstration projects and in 2014 proposed construction of big data industrial ecology.
The Zhongguancun Big Data Enterprises distribution diagram, the Layout of Big Data industries in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province and the Route Map of development of Zhongguancun Big Data Industry were first released in 2015.
In 2016, the big data cooperative platform was established to promote the collaborative development of the three regions.
To date, the industry scale of bog data in Zhongguancun has reached 70 billion yuan. An entire big data chain has formed centering on big data tools, platforms and innovative applications.
Sixteen seminars related to big data are also being held during the event including sessions on analysis and artificial intelligence, talents cultivation, business, consumption and urban operations.
Zhongguancun will conduct further exploration of infrastructure construction and applications of big data and will further support more enterprises adopting big data into their business models to build a big data ecology in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.
