The 11th China (Beijing) International Cultural & Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE), with a theme of “Stimulating Cultural Vitality to Lead Innovation in the Industry”, will be held from October 27th to 30th in Beijing.

More than 100 attractions divided into activities, exhibitions, trade promotions, creative skills, forums and conferences and sub-venue events will be held, and an official platform for Internet display will also be built.

Lin Bin, deputy director of the Organizing Committee Office of the ICCIE and vice chairman of the CCPIT’s Beijing Sub-Council said that this year’s ICCIE will showcase the new face and trends of China’s cultural industry.

The Expo’s main venue is the China International Exhibition Center (the original site) with a total area of 55,000 square meters. It will accommodate 20 thematic pavilions displaying the integrated cultural development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei; a national service platform for digital content trade; Beijing local chronicles; innovation in logistics culture; publications, radio, film and television; quality cultural products from Taiwan; antiquities and museum-related items; arts and crafts; cultural industry cluster zones; Beijing tourism; creative design; young people’s creations; modern wood art; gifts and art trading; the sports industry; fashion in Beijing; international cultural creation; integration of culture and the economy; cultural industries of various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities; and Beijing subway public art.

The ICCIE will also hold dozens of specialized trade promotion activities around 18 themes. These include publication of a series of indices of China’s cultural industry and promotion of “Chinese Gifts” (with a release of the “China Gift Collection”), animated games, and cross-strait inter-city trade opportunities in cultural and creative industries. The ICCIE will also promote Beijing auctions, the city’s cooperative integrated cultural development, cultural finance innovation, and relevant cluster zone projects. Other matters to be highlighted include investment and financing, foreign cultural trade, and assistance for Chinese cultural enterprises to “Go Global”. There will also be a focus on collaborative logistics in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Area and creative designs by international master craftsmen. Various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities will publicize their cultural and creative industry projects, and, as extra attractions, the 23rd Beijing International Exhibition Fair for Audio Equipment and a Recruitment Fair for Cultural and Creative Talents will be on-site.

Since its inception in 2006, the ICCIE has always served the national strategy for the development of the cultural industry, given full play to the unique advantages of Beijing as the country's center for cultural matters, international exchanges and technological innovation, and promoted the integration of national and global cultural resources, playing an important leading role in the rapid development of China’s cultural and creative industries. Over the last ten years the ICCIE has continuously expanded its influence and brand effect as a national and international iconic platform in its industry. The previous ten sessions attracted more than 500 governmental and industrial delegations from such organizations as the United Nations, the WIPO, and the International Animated Film Association; as well as representatives from more than 90 countries and regions. Fifteen thousand domestic and foreign cultural and creative enterprises and institutions have come to show their products and more than 1,600 senior government officials and influential domestic and international experts from the cultural industry have delivered speeches at ICCIE forums. The agreements and transactions reached at the previous ten sessions had a total value of 690.2 billion yuan.

The 11th ICCIE is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, the General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government. It is organized by the CCPIT Beijing Sub-Council.
