Xu welcomed the delegation led by CSU Vice President Cindy Skaruppa and said that along with the council session of the jointly-run Confucius Institute, the symposium has been an annual cooperation program between the two universities since 2014, and has provided a rare opportunity for academic and cultural exchange, as well as personnel transfers.
This year’s symposium covers four topics: the situation and development of China’s financial markets, the trends and prospects of China-US economic and trade development, China’s five major development concepts and economic growth, and urban development and governance, Xu noted.

Cindy Skaruppa firstly congratulated CUEB on its 60th anniversary and thanked the university for its thoughtful organization of the symposium.
The symposium is a symbol of the universities’ increasingly deep cooperation and exchange and will provide more opportunity for future cooperation for both sides, Skaruppa added.
She hoped CUEB scholars will attend the next symposium at CSU.
