On Oct 15, the Future Forum -- Science and Technology Innovation Summit, with a title of “Innovation Originates from Science and Technology”, was held in Beijing.

Many famous scientists, entrepreneurs and investors from China and elsewhere gathered for in-depth discussions about the latest scientific and technological innovation achievements as well as innovation methods.

Wang Hao, governor of Chaoyang district, Guo Hong, director of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee and Wu Hong, head of the Future Forum Secretariat, attended the summit and delivered speeches. Wang said that science and technology is the base of national power, and innovation is its driving force. Chaoyang district should focus on basic scientific research and promotion of national strategies to play an important role in making Beijing into a national science and technology innovation center. Guo noted that a stable ecosystem is an inseparable part of innovation. In the name “Internet+”, the “+” should be translated as “link”, which means a link between scientific research, industry and investment.

At the summit, guests exchanged views on Ohm's Law and innovation ecosystems. The event’s special guest, Xue Shikun, the winner of the Material Science Award of the first Future Science Prizes and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave the keynote speech on A Magic World of Quantum. Xue said that the charm of science lies in satisfying human curiosity and giving unlimited possibilities for our future. The establishment of the Future Science Prizes not only rewards the achievements made by scientists but also advances the development of scientific research in China.

The summit was co-hosted by the government of Beijing’s Chaoyang district, the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee and the Future Forum.
