网上就医挂号(wǎngshàng jiùyī guàhào): Online medical appointments

One after another, hospitals have introduced online registration platforms to gradually reform their traditional registration systems. In some hospitals in Beijing and other metropolises, anybody wishing to make an appointment can only do so online.

That's also part of the ongoing reform to make it convenient for people to see the doctor. In order to successfully make an appointment, people used to stand in long queues at registration windows, and some of them even came to line up and wait overnight. With the online registration platform, people can make a registration at home with a simple click.

Besides, there were always scalpers who booked appointments and then sold them. The online registration platform aims to curb this.

But new problems have emerged. Some complain that it is difficult to make an appointment online, saying that long queues still exist, they have only moved from the real to the virtual world. And some say that senior citizens need medical care the most but they often have trouble using a computer.

It is necessary to improve the online registration platforms. The apps or software should be improved so they are more user-friendly, so that senior citizens can use them more conveniently.
